Peugeot 307 front passenger door locked !

This is an annoying fault that has just developed. The door is stuck closed and the internal and external handles have virtually no resistance when pulled. As if a linkage common to both has come apart.

Does anyone recognise that fault and know what the solution is?

Next does anyone know any simple trick to get it unlocked as that will make a repair far easier?

I would doubt that is possible while it is still closed!

Sounds like you havent looked if you doubt something!

There is screw holding the upper part of the door lining which screws in from the back edge of the door which is inaccessible when it is closed.

Any one else have any ideas?

Problem is I do not know it it is just failing to unlock the central locking or if the linkage from the handles is not working. The handles do feel a little floppy but it is difficult to judge.

I assume you mean the car door opening tool and not the jeans or amateur radio antenna.

I used to be able to open my 405 by manipulation through the gap by the front door handle. But the 307 does not have much space around the handle.

Opening from the window glass gap would probably need significant knowledge and experience. Anyone know where I could find out about that?

Some of the AA and RAC guys were very good at that after being called to so many lockouts.

Do you have any of those (usually charity-run) establishments in your area where they take "troubled" youths and train them in car mechanics?

I have an RAC breakdown as an Aviva insurance add on.

But I do not think they would take kindly to being called out when I can obviously easily drive home with the passenger door locked.

They used to employ nice friendly and helpful people but most I have spoken to more recently seem pretty stressed and not inclined to be very helpful.

At my friendly MOT garage I saw this BMW door with a 100mm square hole next to the lock. I asked if that was how the car had been broken into.

He said no it was because the door lock was jammed and it was the only way to open it up!

I do not know any troubled youths and would not greatly want to either!

I used to know a troubled adult a long time ago whose father had connections with the Crays. He was potentially very protective towards me but I was a little troubled about some of the things he told me like when he used a broken bottle against someone in a pub who was "looking at his wife".

I know that ex-twoccers do sometimes turn their illicit skills to licit use, like working as consultants to car makers to help them build cars which are harder to steal.

You need a circuit diagram. If you think the signal is not even getting to the door, you can usually access the cables going through to the door by removing the side panel by the passenger's left foot. Once you know the wire colour for unlock, you could apply 12v briefly to that to unlock it.
