MP tells truth in Parliament, gets suspended for a day.

it's well known that Johnson is a deceitful, dishonest liar.

it's been established in court that he is allowed to lie to the electorate while campaigning in an election.

not many Prime Ministers have even lied to the Queen and Parliament in a ruse to try to close down Paliamentary democracy is order to get their own way.

It does no harm to bring this out into the open from time to time.

The rule of not calling other MPs liars in parliament is there to force MPs to put together proper arguments and make proper points. Otherwise, MPs would constantly be calling each other liars and they wouldn't have any kind of proper debate.

if the highest position of politics in the land cant hold our leaders to account what on earth is the purpose of having it at all.

A lie which has now caused huge problems for trade flows across that border

If he had been held to account when he said it, perhaps we would not be in a mess now.

how about a Minister who breached the Ministerial Code?

the UK is in a Trumpian post truth period where right wing populism enables corruption, propaganda and avoids scrutiny.

the political system is utterly broken and I think its shameful so many Tory voters condone it through sheer tribalism.

You swiftly changed your location to 'coastal' after that statement didn't you? You also never denied it at the time which I thought was rather strange. You never would commit to saying whether you were showing that location at the time of that post - swerve after swerve when asked. Would you like to confirm it now?
