This means components needed for use in the UK will not have a suitable “kitemark” to guarantee a product is safe which could force manufacturers and their suppliers to down tools or divert their trade elsewhere, leading figures warn. Without confirmation that these safety and environmental standards are met, products and parts cannot be sold on the UK market.

These kitemarks must be policed by a government-approved testing body, and from January 1 2022 most products must be separately approved for a UK regime.

Projects such as refurbishing commercial premises or building homes could be stopped in their tracks, because contractors are required to install products, such as fridges and fridge components which meet UK regulations.

These can only be found to comply with that contractual obligation if confirmed by the new UKCA regime, and some products are currently caught in backlogs.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

"During Brexit negotiations, the UK failed to secure an agreement with the EU to recognise one another’s safety standards, known as conformity assessments."

Yet another f*ck up by borisconi...

Rabid brexiteers will no doubt be cheering on the buffoon...

Stupid is as stupid does!

I don't know why they don't just say if they are ce marked then they are UK kitemarked automatically, would that not make for an easy continuation for business

A problem kicked into the long grass is a problem solved as far as Brexxers are concerned.

Who needs Kitemarks? Brexxer prefer the freedom of not having to comply.

When you are told, don't shoot your foot off and you still do it, you deserve all the criticism.

I'm not sure what the ins and outs are, but it should be that all new products have to be kitemarked, all existing products that conform to ce get automatic kitemark.

Though maybe this already stands

I will provide a solution if I can get a £1bn contract - fair is fair.

First step put this Brexit idiocy and ideology to one side.

UK set to have the highest growth rate in Europe.
Quote..
It forecasts that UK GDP will rise by 7.2% in 2021, the fastest growth since 1941, after a 9.8% contraction in 2020 – the worst in almost 300 years. That would outpace other advanced economies, including the US

Can you tell me the position of the UK economy after the contraction and growth.

If the UK grows as fast as predicted, and with wage inflation at around 8% that means more money coming in from higher national insurance contributions and taxes, that means the debt accrued during the Pandemic wont be as painful as some have claimed.

Because it got harder than the EU last year.
