Hi
Our shower goes too hot when someone turns on a cold water tap or flushes a toilet. I think we probably need to change the shower as it's about 15 years old. What would be the correct type to buy please?

TIA

All combi’s do this, as the boiler is using the cold feed (rising main) and heating the water on demand.

Anyone turning on a cold tap/ flushing loo uses some of the cold water, and rather than boiling you alive the boiler backs of the heat until it’s happy again.

Newer boilers are probably better at dealing with this.

We have a system, it works fine,. We yell out - I am having a shower so do not flush the toilet or turn on a tap, or switch
on the washing machine. It works in our household.

JohnHuson Haha that's what we do but I am a bit concerned if we had visitors that were desperate to keep clean!!

and heyho I've give you a thanks x

Before we had a thermostatic shower we used to upturn a cup over the hot tap in the kitchen as a reminder. When the ma-in-law saw it she said what's this cup doing here? took it off and opened the tap. Squeals of rage from the bathroom!
