Crack along bay window ceiling

Bought a house (built 1935s) and painted over some quite fine lines/cracks at the top floor bay window, right where it meets the house. A few months later, it looks like the attached photos - the cracks have started to come back. Is this anything major to worry about? I did use cheap paint, so I'm hoping it's just that!! Can't see anything from the outside or on the sides, just going along the way of the joinery to the house.

It may be that the old ceiling in the bay is not tied in well to the house. There is probably a wooden beam trying to support the wall. Have the original wooden windowframes been removed?

you may need to lift a floorboard in the room above to look into the space above the bay ceiling

Guess that's bottom of lintel and plasterboard in the bay. Tap with knuckle and lintel will be solid and plasterboard will be hollow. Where the two meet its cracked.

Fill crack and sand and put wallrock lining over bay ceiling and paint.
