A Cop 26 fringe meeting that it would be catastrophic for the planet to carry on drilling for gas and oil

but still won’t say if her government is opposed in principle to plans for a new oil and gas extraction from the cambo field near Shetland

it’s a dilemma given that more than 100000 Scottish jobs depend on oil and gas

Oh well in order to fund independance they will have to rely on short bread and whisky production for revenue

As has been pointed out many times on this forum, Scotland don’t meet the criteria to join the E.U. Therefore they won’t be turning up “cap in hand”.

Well they could fiddle the books like Greece did

they have already “begged” the EU not to forget them

Some SNP euro MP said in the European Parliament live in telly

don’t forget Scotland “we beg of you”

Def used the word “beg”

bloke should have been slung out the party imo

Scotland is not currently an independent country. When it next is, it will be at liberty to apply for EU membership, or for such other status as may be appropriate.

I think the EU would bend the rules to get the Scots into their club.
Scotland in the EU would mean an EU border on the Island of mainland Britain.
England would be weakened, which is what the EU want.
Remember, the EU had no moral qualms about fiddling the books to get their hands on a bankrupt Greece.
Scotland would be an even bigger prize, i imagine that the very idea of Scotland in the EU would be enough to give VDL an orgasm.
