Censorship?

Great news for Johnson.

in the yougov June poll, "Thinking about Boris Johnson, do you think he is trustworthy or untrustworthy?"

his rating has improved from 12% to 13%

That's 13% of people think he is trustworthy.

74% say he is untrustworthy.

No wars, no Brexit, no covid, low fuel prices, low cost of living, zero inflation, economic growth, no train strikes, prosperity for the UK etc etc etc.
Apart from the war (although a more divided/distracted Europe may have added to the reasons) or the 'virus', isn't that what was promised by brexiteers?

Only man prepared to carry out the wishes of the electorate whilst all others from all parties wanted to talk talk talk, take out injunctions, scream and shout, do a 'best of three' vote, hold things up, whinge, cry, pretend to leave the UK and live in Euroland etc etc. I've said it before and I’ll keep on saying it - BoJo has done what I voted him in for and he can **** off for all I care. We're out of the EU so get used to it, we're never going back and you'll eventually thank all of us brave souls (and Notch) that voted for it. (y)
OK, so he carried out the wishes of the electorate. But honestly, did anybody voting for Brexit actually know what breaking away would mean, what it would entail?

And how long it will be until we are able to thank all Brexit voters for putting us in a better position?

Because what I could see were endless lies (or at best half truths) about how we were being policed regarding the curviness of our bananas or cucumbers. Then there was Boris waving a vacuum packed kipper around moaning about OTT food standards, the very same standards that were developed by our good selves and adopted (in the main) by the EU. Not to mention the outrageous claims on the side of the bus....

Do you think he and his ilk were responsible for for peddling this utter rubbish to try and persuade the less well informed in society that we would be better off, financially and otherwise cutting our ties with the evil EU?

Considering he was pro EU, do you think he was just doing whatever he thought would get him the most votes, persuading us that the grass would be greener on our side of the channel once we had cut ties, rather than the standardised "no artificial colouring" homogenous millimetre-precise green pastures the EU would insist on?

Fortunately or unfortunately, folk look for a heavy dose of charisma in their leaders, leadership is different from management and different traits are required to be a good leader as opposed to just a good manager.

Hence Boris being able to ride the leadership wave even with all its bumps.

If Starmer had more oomph and charisma about him, with a few more half decent Labour policies, things would be looking a lot more dicey for the Tories than they currently are.

This story did not appear in later editions and not at all on The Times website which means it isn't true and was retracted to avoid legal action. Or it is true and was suppressed to avoid further embarrassment for the PM.

Simon did another story in the New European standing by the Times story, I know him well and texted him last night congratulating him on the scoop, he didn't enlighten me on any facts but I should be seeing him on Sunday as he's down this part of the world visiting family so I'll see what I can find out. He's the bloke who broke the wallpaper story, he doesn't get stuff like that wrong. I thought he's retired in January after leaving The Mail but I'm pleased to see him keeping his hand in.
My guess is somebody very high up has strong armed the editor, but that is just a guess.
