Censorship?

Mottie, Andy has said anything is better than being in the grip of the EU.
Do you agree with him?
Nah. But I do believe better out than in. For the UK anyway. Not for one of those impoverished European countries though. If I was Greek for example, I’d want in!

You can get any lie, no matter how blatant and ridiculous, believed by the masses if you can get it onto the mainstream media.
and you believe all the right wing cr@p

you are brainwashed by the media, yet you claim you arent

your hatred of foreigners, people on benefits, your hatred of the left....all products of brainwashing by the Daily Mail.

you are easy prey

A quick search of your posts containing the word 'poll' will show otherwise. Oh, silly me, you forgot to add 'unless they back up any of my posts'. ;)
If someone wishes to enter a pi$$ing contest I will have my penny's worth, yes.
But the reality is that polls are not an up to date way of determining how Joe thinks or acts. Bozza is taking a battering of late. In a couple of weeks he could be a hero again.
Polls are really nothing to boast about whether that be Starmer or Bozz.

A woman in Wakefield is still going to vote Tory as 'Boris makes me laugh'.
Public opinion? Most of 'em couldn't pass a Turing Test.

Exactly. EU membership was much too complex with far reaching implications to trust Brits with a plebiscite.

Covid may have been the perfect excuse to kick the whole $h!tshow into the long grass. One disaster is quite enough to be going on with.

Simon did another story in the New European standing by the Times story, I know him well and texted him last night congratulating him on the scoop, he didn't enlighten me on any facts but I should be seeing him on Sunday as he's down this part of the world visiting family so I'll see what I can find out. He's the bloke who broke the wallpaper story, he doesn't get stuff like that wrong. I thought he's retired in January after leaving The Mail but I'm pleased to see him keeping his hand in.
My guess is somebody very high up has strong armed the editor, but that is just a guess.

Spent the afternoon and evening with Simon, the author of the story, the horses mouth, today. He played (he has always been in bands) at The Polgooth Inn, doing guitar and keyboards while his grand daughter sang, she has a lovely voice, did some Amy Winehouse, Coldplay etc, it was her first ever paid gig, a hundred and forty quid, Simon didn't take his half and we threw in twenty quid to buy something for the baby.

Anyway, he was shocked at the story being pulled, it wasn't an injunction, it was direct pressure from No.10.

He feels the story itself wasn't the main problem, far worse has been printed without that sort of reaction, he suspects that the reason for the story being so concerning is that it would lead to more scrutiny of the 'Boris and Carrie being caught in a compromising position' story, apparently a blowjob was involved.

I queried the fact that Guido Fawkes hadn't commented, apparently it's possible he's one of Carrie's sock puppets.

Expect another story to appear in the next week or two, it involves Charities, Carrie and money.

This is what the Tories were worried about, the story has gained legs, big story in the Private Eye and a splash in America.

Simon went home Thursday, on Wednesday we managed to blag last minute tickets to see Bryan Adams at the Eden Project. Not a big fan but a great singer, great musicians, put on a good show.

Simon stayed at ours that night, we played some Lou Reed and Velvet Underground interspersed with a bit of Jacques Brel.

We are diametrically opposed, not just upbringing, he's 'left' I'm 'right', he's a remainer, I'm a leaver, we share a love of music and a love of talking politics, the last time we had an argument was 45 years ago.

Catching two people 'sitting chatting over a glass of wine' won't cause a ripple among the public after far more damaging stories have already emerged. Just put it on the end of a long list and settle his account later.
