The Lionesses win!

I'm not sure women's football will get much bigger than it is now.

With the mens game I haven't the passion or the money to support Chelsea like I did but I'm still very Tribal about them. And I think that will always be the difference between men's and womens football.

I won't be meeting my Dad and brothers down the pub ro watch Chelsea women play. I will watch Saturdays game down my Dad's club with his mates as I enjoy the social time and a couple of beers.

On saying this a bunch of the older lot who I went home and away games with when we where shįt; went to see the Girls play in the FA Cup final. If I was invited I would have went.

Is it just me that thinks it’s NOT strange that most of the usual posters on this forum that are quick to shoehorn into any thread any item of news that seem to them to be detrimental to the U.K. or pro EU items are noticeably absent from this one?

One of them has even posted in this thread but not even seen fit to comment on the thread topic!

Had the 'EU' won yesterday, I’m sure they would have been putting up threads of their own saying how good they were and how shît we are. Just sayin'…..

Had the 'EU' won yesterday,

Like you for instance - didn't you notice that most EU countries have a women's team. Money has been put into the sport to make it possible. I didn't catch all of the detail but it sounded like having a women's national team meant recieving $500m to help do it.

I did notice, a bit surprised, so I checked https://www.englandfootball.com/womens-senior-team/squad?sqd=CURRENT
and was glad to see it's not quite true

I thought Kelly's goal celebration would cause a bit of a stir, and sure enough:

I did wonder for a moment if the display was "taking one for the future of women's football", as she may have raised men's interest in following it, by a couple of points.
You could tell she thought twice about it, maybe she should have thought thrice. It was lovely to see her so obviously delighted, but anyone who even comments on it will be forever cast a women hater.

Oh well.

Now, can we please have some respite from having football rammed down our throats all the time!
Aw come on, it's an international celebration.
I don't watch football at all, but even I'd raise an arm and say "yay, well done". Someone deserves an OBE. You know - Other Buggers' Endeavours

I admit to being tetchy when I turned on the news on Saturday, and the top item was that there was a football match the next day.

Interesting listening the Radio 2 Vine slot talking about the game. On comparing it to the men's game, its more enjoyable due to the lack of racism and hate/trolling on social media.
Firstly - The girls won so everyone is chuffed to bits, would social media have a different response if they had lost?
Secondly - The squad is mainly white, so very little for the keyboard racists to get their teeth into

Well done the girls, I enjoyed the game immensely. Make the most of it as the media will always look to bring you down when things don't go so well.

Oh look it's mottie the creepy stalking troll again...

I guess it hasn't realised yet that some people actually work instead of scamming taxpayers' money...

But talk about 'shoehorn into any thread'...

It gets more pathetic with every post it spouts, and proves itself yet again to be so incredibly stupid!

No doubt it will now plead with the mods to get the thread locked!

Indeed...

I also looked at all the teams eligible for competing in the Euros and couldn't find an 'EU team' listed...

I guess it's in the same folder as that 'EU army'?

Sorry, were they your 'well done England ladies' posts? Though not, point proven, case closed. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
