A glass of wine and a slice of birthday cake.

So in effect we've witnessed a coup where the job of the three biggies in politics have gone to remainers.
Prime minister Truss remainer.
Chancellor Hunt remainer
Home office Shapps remainer.

Steve Baker, an ardent Brexiteer, is sounding out the possibility of closer cooperation with EU.
People change their minds, it's allowed.

Remember when they said Labour would "take us back to the '70s"...? Well the Tories beat them to it! Soaring inflation tackled with rising interest rates, industrial action due to insufficient pay, the hope of yet another general election and threats of electricity rationing (because a different Tory government sold off control of our own energy production).

I'm not a 'leftie' but I blame where we are now entirely on 12 years of 'rule' under four different Tory PMs. The actions of the latest appointed PM have directly inflicted further hardship on millions.

They never change and we need to remove them, in my view by force if necessary (but we won't because we're historically a very placid population!)
How do we explain similar inflation across the Euro Zone then?

Annual inflation up to 9.9% in the euro area

A global lockdown is partly to blame as it stored up demand. An energy war with Russia is partly to blame as it has driven up fuel prices and of course f**ing about with policy doesn't help.

Spaffing money up the wall on a 'virus' where you pay people to sit home and find they kinda like the idea doesn't help.
It of a bugger trying to get them back to work, some have caught covid over four times.

So you think she resigned on an integrity issue?
I already said what i think; that she resigned to save herself before the ship sinks.
Another Tory spoke out against Truss this morning. That's seven openly saying she should go, with many many more muttering darkly in the corridors of Parliament. About half a dozen of 'em think they can do the job of PM better than Truss, and Braverman is clearly one of them.
And they're openly saying she's got to the end of the month when Hunt gives the rest of the mini-budget. Then it's open season on her.

That figure is a bit dubious, as it's skewed massively by Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (all at 25%). I do agree that external factors are responsible for artificially increasing it to some degree, however. It doesn't excuse the lies and backtracking on other financial decisions, though.

Unsurprisingly, tax havens like Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and even France have rates well below us.

I also hear from a friend in France who emigrated, that their energy rates have hardly risen. No doubt the EDF and others are creaming the profits from us and passing some of the money on to its domestic customers.

So she's given up a ministerial job with all the trappings waiting for the next prime minister, who is more than likely to be a remainer in the hope she'll get a ministerial job back as a token gesture brexiteer?
As political shenanigans go that's some chicanery going on right there.

So it is all about brexit ?

Quite simple when you look at it like that
