Is a Swiss style deal on the way

However as a Brexit voter, I do now wonder if it was all worth it.
I'm sorry to tell you this...

But as the evidence continues to grow that you were a victim of the biggest con in recent history...

Even worse is that you'll have to live with the fact that you have also dragged down those who saw through the lies!

The sticking point for Switzerland was abiding by state aid rules, all EU citizens being eligible for Swiss social security benefits and domestic salary protection.
The negotiations were influenced by the concurrent Brexit negotiations. EU did not want UK to cherry pick the best bits of the Swiss-EU deal, so EU hardened its stance on that deal, leading to a refusal from Swiss to comply.

Sounds like a constructive approach.

Depends on your view of Brexit. One could argue that it prevented improved Swiss-EU relations as well as the damage it caused to UK - EU trade, etc.

tbh I'll live with it fine. What I mean by that is, as with any vote, you weigh up the arguments both sides and put your tick/x in a box. If it's a change that affects the entire country and not for the better, that outcome wasn't necessarily to be known at the time of voting.

Your logic is correct, in any other political decision, such as a five year parliament, a five year MP, etc.
Bu the Brexit decision crossed the bridge and burnt it. Then the ERG/boris destroyed the banks and foundations.

'taking back control of our borders' line. Would that be a fair thing to say?
Try getting in or out of the UK from anywhere without a passport etc while in the EU as well.

Cheaper food. Fact is food for the UK is imported from all over the place some sources will mean tariffs while in the EU. Now out and thanks to Truss look forwards to lamb and beef from both NZ and Oz that our own producers will have problems matching price wise. Our gain sending stuff to them zero. I hope the lamb is better than some a tried a couple of years ago, Worst joint I have ever bought,

Smog mentioned one tariff. 4.5% on children's shoes. Clothes are made all over the place in countries with cheap labour even parts of Africa. However if some one is after good stuff the prices are considerably higher where ever they come from.

On the face of it this area does have cost of living aspects but transport miles escalate and the cost of that aspect has increased. The net effect could be not worth producing anything here even food.

No idea on numbers now but our meat exports have been worth £1.35b in the recent past. The EU took a pretty high proportion.

The daily flail reports Tories are concerned the chancellor's comments in the budget speech that closer ties to Europe could lead to a Swiss style economic deal where we have better access to EU markets but without membership. Seems like a plan and would potentially resolve the NI impasse.

Blup
Tories are sh1tting themselves because they’ve wrecked the economy.

Hunt now wants to increase immigrants by 200,000 a year and reduce trade barriers.

in other words undo the stupidity of brexit

The restrictive state aid rules were due to UKs insistence.

said on the radio the other day that Switzerland is the most industrialised country in Europe ( manufacturing) they may have said in the world ? given the size of the population ?????

blimey I was surprised as I thought they only made cuckoo clocks and were involved in dodgy banking

And chocolate, don't overlook chocolate.

The best bit of this storyline is all the Brexers looking up stroke symptoms so they can pretend to be apoplectic about it. Whilst secretly responding to polls as remainers/made-a-mistakers.

"Downing Street has “categorically” denied it is seeking a Swiss-style relationship with the EU"

So that means they definitely are.
