What are these stair parts called?

Hi guys,

There are two stairs leading down to our kitchen. There is a right angle piece of wood covering the carpet where the stairs go from tread to riser ( struggling to even describe it ) Anyway, one's come loose and needs replacing but I don't know what they're called.. Anyone know?

Yes Aluminium stair nosings ( not wood). It looks more like a problem with the carpet though.
