I've offered for sale, a large box of mig and tig tips, I was given years ago, a few used, most new, hundreds of them. For those who might not know, they are made from copper. I have been inundated with people wanting to buy them by their weight, obviously to weigh them in for scrap copper, which is something I could do myself, and get the full scrap value myself. I'm keen to ensure they go to someone who could make use of them.

One individual, who obviously didn't have a clue what they were, and was obviously keen to buy them for scrap value, less his cut, even began name calling because I politely refused his offer, which progressed to my having to block him, because he simply would not take no thanks for an answer. Now he has set up more accounts, to continue his tirade. Some people are just weird..

Break them up in pack and sell.
Selling job lots is never a good option as anyone buying will probably only do so to break up and resell.

Just had another weirdo - I offered an almost new condition, Win7 Laptop, free, for collection, with precise details to follow, once I had checked it out - with the suggestion that who ever requested it, should have a good reason to want it. I didn't want any resellers claiming it, to sell on. It got pounced on by idiots, claiming it was simply some sort of scam. A young student has asked if she can have it, for her course note taking - for which it's fine.

Make sure you clean the drive first!

Women and children's refuges are crying out for working laptops. Many of the kids who arrive don't have tech of their own. There are initiatives whereby you can donate your laptop/tablet and a computer whizz will kindly clean it and upgrade it and then pass it onto a refuge.

One such initiative is Level Up Laptop Appeal in Horley but there are others.
