Is there a way you can move this extractor hole over to the right so it's central for a cooker hood. Was thinking of filling the old hole in and have the kitchen fitters make a new one. Thanks in advance.

That’s what I had to do when I moved my hob during my kitchen refit. One thing, if you’re drilling a new hole, go for the largest bore that is recommended for your extractor. My original was 4”. My new extractor recommended 5” or 6”. I went for 6” and you’d be surprised at how efficient and quieter the extractor is at 6”.

That's a 6" that's in now, just a little worried having another 6" drilled so close to the existing one. Unless I leave the liner in and pack it with brick/mortar?

Ah the old half turnip/swead trick to prevent your curtains going up in flames.

Ah right, sorry, didn't realise it was on the worktop agree curtains are close to cooker but we never leave it unattended, use air fryer more than anything now. Thanks all for your replies.

Easy enough to stitch it out to the right. Might possibly be able to only do that on the inner skin of the wall, and have a bit of a bend using flexi duct and end up not disturbing the outside appearance

Thank you, solid pipe better than flexi would you say? I don't mind the repair to the external wall.

Probably, yeah. But given the tiny length not going to make much difference. Just drill small holes to stitch out and break out.

Is the FCU feeding the fan?

Drill the new hole a bit more higher than the existing one to avoid drilling through the cable and ending up in a disasterous bang.

Yes it is feeding the fan, supply getting moved though, going above the hole.
