Non pharmaceutical interventions had to deal with real life…..so it’s no surprise they were at times contradictory.

The U.K. and elsewhere had no experience of dealing with a covid pandemic without a vaccine nor experience



It does not mean that non pharmaceutical interventions were wrong, decisions were taken in an emergency and without benefit of hindsight.


Luckily we had virologists and epidemiologists to make decisions and not plumbers

If you have symptoms, don't come to work

If any of the occupiers have symptoms, we don't attend.

We wore PPE.

We asked them to go to another room.
If they wouldn't, we left.

I cleared my workshop out recently. I had boxes and boxes of unused face masks, bottles of anti bacterial handwash and sanitizer, a dozen or so full face shields, some PP3 masks, an oximeter and an infrared digital thermometer. Gave them all away to friends and relatives apart from the thermometer and oximeter.
