This site does not support DIY gas work.
I've been through quite a few of these forums hoping to track down my fault with varying levels of success.
About 3 months ago the boiler started acting up, flame would could out early in the cycle with a flue fault being indicated.
First thing I changed was the APS, at the same time I checked the sensor tubes, the Venturi pipes, the flue collar.
That settled things down for a few weeks but then the fan itself started getting noisy, like a diesel tractor & then throw up flue fault again.
I ordered a replacement fan, while I was waiting I took out the existing diesel tractor, cleaned it & oiled it using 3 in 1, it purred again, great success.
When the new fan arrived I never bothered putting it in as the old one was now working perfectly.
It did start making noise but a lazy squirt of WD40 in the general direction of the bearings seemed to pacify it, until now.
So the diesel tractor returned & I put the new fan in a few days ago, it starts up perfectly but is known to whistle & trombone oddly enough.
Once it gets up to top temp, 80 degrees, it can be heard surging, seeking . . . . then eventually flue fault.
Now, if I drop the max rad temp to say 70 degrees it runs perfectly, no fault.
It's a bit of whack-a-mole at this stage.
The only 2 things I haven't checked is the state of the flue chimney itself & the PCB.
Any inspiration ? All welcome.
