Made up storyI am doing it on the way from this job. Not looking forward to it. We have got her a hair voucher to get her hair done because of the oil on the rag as well. OMG some people are such leeches.

Perhaps you were unusually and temporarily distracted and didn't correctly close off the path. It's a been an eye opener as it could have been more than a lamp full of water. So in my job I work at heights and the lighting that I work on has a normal problem that the lights fill up with water. When you open them it gushes out like a waterfall. Not normally a problem but today I couldnt be bothered to cone off a public footpath as it was really quiet.. I opened up a light full of water and I heard a ladyy scream. I looked down and there she was stood under the light soaking wet. I said I was sorry and came down in my cherry picker. I got an old rag out the back of my van and started to dry her down, this made her worse. She reported me to my bosses and I have to go to her house with a bunch of flowers to apologise. ~Would you do this?
It’s obviously not a real storyhmmm the bosses are not really thinking this through. Nobody should go around the woman's house and apologies and certainly not on their own. A bunch of flowers and a card is perfectly acceptable, but really you shouldn't start giving beyond that without it being in full settlement of the claim.
Obviously you are aware that the purpose of coning off the walkway is mainly to ensure anything you drop doesn't kill or injure someone.
make sure you limit your dialogue to an apology and at no point discuss what you should and should not have done. if she argues.. stick with the apology.
"again I am sorry for the distress and inconvenience.". etc.
may be worth having your phone on record in your pocket.

I can only imagine that this could not happen to you in your job of picking tomatos and cucumbers, one day if you ever got a highly skilled and highly paid job like myself, you would realise these things happen. It’s obviously not a real story

Well it could have gone worse if I am being honest. I did my best and apologised but I got the flowers a bit wrong. My manager warned me before we got there not to say anything to upset her, his advice wasn't the best really. How did the flower delivering go...lol

It's a happy thread with no arguments. You can't help yourself can you. People not in your team enjoying themselves with some banter. Seriously, get a life mate. It’s obviously not a real story
Basically admitting a reportable accident and probably an H&S offence. You probably want to amend this:
