US and Israel seek to expel Palestinians from Palestine...

My whole point has been about why some people, mainly on the right, like Nigel Farage and Katie Hopkins, are starting to use the term "Judeo Christian" to describe Britain, when until recently we have always been described as a "Christian" country.
Because they are desperate to swerve the link between right-wing ideology and antisemitism.

A lot of Jewish people don't like it:

Several prominent Jewish commentators have pointed out that the term elides the fact that Jews have often experienced persecution in Christian-majority European countries. After Donald Trump used the term in 2017, Rabbi Jill Jacobs wrote on Twitter that “much of ‘Judeo-Christian’ tradition involves centuries of Christians trying to kill us,” adding, “if you mean ‘not Muslim’ say it.”

The problem with the Bible is the same as all documents 'set in stone': adherents cannot reconcile a text written in different times by people who couldn't begin to imagine the affect their words would have on future generations.
Plus all the translations, and translations of translations, and probably translations of translations of translations, done by people with an inadequate knowledge of the original or translation languages, seeking to entrench their contemporary moral beliefs.

Republicans wang on about Freedom of Speech but their actions speak louder than words...Trumps' move to silence pro-democracy media sparks outrage as Voice of America and Radio Free Europe among outlets forced to make cuts as U.S. seeks to curtail funding.
And how many books are the Republicans removing from schools and public libraries because they don't like what they say?

Have you seen Mark Zuckerberg's attitude to the freedom of speech rights of Sarah Wynn-Williams?

Or what Elon Musk is doing on X and in the courts to his critics? Here's just one example: https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/elon-musk-x-advertisers-lawsuit-social-media-rcna165605

when people use the term "Judeo Christian" there is every need to ask such a question
I agree - given the way that adherents of Judaism have been treated by Christians, including at various times in this country being expelled, massacred, made to wear badges, confiscation of property, denial of civil rights, it has to be asked why some people are using the term "Judeo Christian" rather than just "Christian".

There has to be a motive.

We could just say "Abrahamic religions"

That covers it.

You can probably start where the original texts written in Aramaic were translated into Greek: they were transliterated, using Greek words to approximate the sound of Aramaic. The oldest Bible was written more than 300 years after his (alleged) crucifixion and many texts were written during those years, with many more being discarded...people dismiss ancient legends of Irish or Norse mythology, for example, but are quite happy to take the written word as Gospel in the subsequent Bible versions written over the centuries. The first English version wasn't written 'til over a 1,000 years had passed, with numerous misinterpretations thrown in for good measure.

The Republicans are descended from the Puritans who colonised the country, bringing all kinds of madness from England where they'd become a troublesome cult of Reformers after Henry VIII declared himself absolute monarch with a direct line to God. They have the same misfortune to suppose their creed is superior to anyone else's opinion on matters spiritual. A pox on them all, say I..

or a method of expressing solidarity with their far right cousins in Tel Aviv.

Trump supporters get most upset when the word Fascism is used to describe this administration…..but removing books and controlling the media is fascism
