We've got a bit of moss on a house we just moved into and I want to keep on top of it. I've seen the videos on YouTube where telescopic poles and scrapers are used and there seems to be dozens for sale on the interenet but wanted to know if anyone had bought something they could recommend please? Something around 7m or 8m would be ideal. I'd want to attach a scraper or a brush. Thanks for looking

I used an extending wolf garten pole with a hoe attachment, but it won't get to 8 metres, in fact it might be difficult to control at that distance even if you found a pole long enough

Thanks. That's a very good point. Guys on the videos make it look easy. Wish I could hang up my boots when it comes to roof and gutter work but round here a genuine pro is hard to find

I've used this, with a bristle brush attachment to remove moss def at the 6-8m range it gets bendy and have to be v carefull to keep brush screwed on. but can also be used with the right attachment to help clear gutters https://www.amazon.co.uk/DocaPole-Extension-Multi-Purpose-Telescopic-Telescoping/dp/B071X7PM2L?th=1.

alternative which i think probably works better if you can get closer is a pressure sprayer [can get maybe 3-4m away with a manual one like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RD0KTZQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ] and some moss killer https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017PCR2HO?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title - i used some of this diluted on a wall [on a couple of dry days] and it killed all the algae totally in a couple of days. whereas a brush will remove some of it but leave some behind

Thanks for the advice and link. I appreciate it. Strangely at the moment all the moss is rolling off the roof. Could be the weather or seagulls pecking at it

this is what google ai says... "Moss is likely rolling off your roof because it's become too heavy due to moisture absorption, combined with factors like wind, rain, and gravity, causing it to detach from the roof surface, especially if the underlying roof material is not providing sufficient grip; this is often seen on roofs with excessive moss growth, particularly in damp conditions or areas with limited sunlight"...so yes could be weather

Hi David, I bought the Docapole and it does the job brilliantly thanks. I found the brush not hard enough so improvised a scraper using an old brush head with some metal strip attached and good old gaffer tape. I need to find an ACME to UK thread adapter to make things a bit more secure but in meantime this will work

Glad you found a solution

I bought a docapole and also want to scrape moss off the roof. It is quite thick moss. I'm trying to work out how to attach a scraper with gaffer tape to the pole. Any suggestions?

I have come across an adapter that I hope fits the docapole, which converts from acme to euro thread. Any ideas on what attachments for moss I could use that fits a euro thread? Cheap and cheerful solutions are best for me because i am on a budget.

That looks ideal, but does it fit the docapole? The docapole uses a US sized thread, as opposed to EU sizes. I cannot see any information on the thread size.

I don't know but you can ask seller/manufacturer or look online for other scrapers that attach to an extension pole. It says universall

Attaches to standard extn poles

Or this

I think the issue is that standard extension poles over here use the EU standard, while the docapole has US standards.
