So, who got the most votes?
Trump didn’t get more votes, Democrats got less.

Trump lied endlessly and people like you believed it.

Latinos voted for Trump and now they are seeing family members being deported.

America is being turned into a hellhole for ordinary American citizens and Filly is still clapping

Come on Filly, why are you so incredibly blind to what Trump is doing?

Filly you’ve just had a major operation which you’ve been waiting for a long time, get you support atrump who is making health care less affordable for millions of Americans.

Because the hard right toreys pushed the narrative that no deal was the appropriate way forward, thus shafting the economy when the burnt turkey was finally carved up. The public thought that Borris would sought the mess out, when all that was needed was a sensible may yrpe trade based deal
I suppose the Tory landslide had nothing to do with the fact that Labour had that numpty Jeremy Corbyn as leader.
You seem to forget that many Labour voters switched to the Tories because of Jeremy Corbyn.

They were as aware of his mental condition as they were of Trumpfs mental condition.

An impaired Bidden would be ten times the president Trumpf is.
Allowing Biden to serve another term would have been considered elder abuse.
The old guy wouldn't have lasted.
Politics is about personality a lot of the time, its how the public perceive the candidate, they don't have the attention span to absorb the finer details of policy.
They respond to soundbites and slogans.

I particular enjoyed the Bessent interview on pharma.... ran into the wall of reality mid sentence. We will tax all imports on big pharma who must make drugs in the US, interviewer, did they not move offshore in response to Trumps first term lowering of they patent length on new drugs, lowering the patent length from 10 years to 5..... which virtually doubled the cost of drugs... silence, cheesey grin and then off to fentanyl diatribe to run the interview clock down.

If Jeremy Corbyn had got in it would have been terrible for us now with what is happening in Ukraine. He wanted to scrap the Trident nuclear deterent that we have as well as slash military spending to an even worse state it got us into now. At least Starmer is going to spend on this and realises that it is important.

Jeremy Corbyns stance on Ukraine has always been: “we must negotiate a peace settlement to end the bloodshed”

Which is the same argument that you put forward.

Not at all, yes I do think we should always look for a peaceful settlement in all wars, but certainly not scrap our military spending or scrap trident.

it was obvious, even to his own supporters, that in no way was he fit to serve another term.
That’s the problem.

It’s not obvious to Trump supporters that he is not fit to serve another term, let alone the first term.

It is shocking how even people in the U.K. are brainwashed by the MAGA cult

But that’s what Jeremy Corbyn wanted….and you said he would’ve been terrible for Ukraine.

By the way Corbyns advisors at the time were dangerously Pro Putin and pro Russia…..ironic really that the hard left and hard right align on their love for Putin

but certainly not scrap our military spending or scrap trident.
Jeremy Corbyns 2017 and 2019 included a commitment to maintain trident and meet 2% NATO pledge.

I know Corbyn is an anti war nutter, but his manifestos didn’t include his beliefs on defence.

The cult of the personality meant that Johnson was kicked out when people realised there was nothing of substance. People get obsessed by strong leadership when its sensible economic policies that are required.
Allowing Biden to serve another term would have been considered elder abuse.
The old guy wouldn't have lasted.
He would have been supported, with a VP ready to take over

And look where Trumpf's personality got him and the world, yet 32 per cent of republicans still strongly approve of what he is doing

Not in that context, I meant had he had his way and we scrapped trident which he thought was a waste of money, imagine how putin would have viewed us now. No nuclear deterent and a financially struggling army.

We still have a struggling army. If we were to send troops to Russia/Ukraine, we would be at a stretch to provide 2 brigades, about 8000 men. I doub t the 'coalition of the willing' could provide more than 40,000 troops. How many troops does Putin have on the ground? 1,000,000?

US has 18 ships inc 2 aircraft carriers in the middle east and up to 40,000 men, to keep the Suez Canal open for mainly European trade and to keep the Houthis at bay, we have 2 warships, the Italians have a frigate, the French might have a couple of ships.

that's why we need a long cease fire now in Ukraine to re stock our equipment that we have "donated" To also increase our military spending and invest in technology. A lot of our comms desperately need upgrading and although we have some excellent technology, a lot of it requires replacing. I left the foces 5 years ago and in that time we have simply been treading water just maintaining what we have rather than invest.
