Good morning all - could someone help me and advise me how to deal with this crack please.
It is where a plasterboard wall meets a solid wall.
I have tried using that tape that plasterers use - but it didnt work (within a month the plaster bulged out as if there was air behind it.
I thought i could use the expanding foam but the crack is not wide enough for me to put the little plastic pipe in.
The crack is less than 1cm wide and runs from coving to skirting board
Anyone advise please?

Hi, had the same problem myself many years ago.
I used a 'polyfilla' type powder mixed with a liquid to make a stiff paste that was well pushed into the crack.
The liquid was a blend of ½ water and ½ a PVA builders type adhesive, well mixture before adding to the powder.
The resulting mix when set was like resin and very difficult to sand.
I therefore suggest that when applying the mixture, is that it's not left proud of the surrounding area. When set a thin skim of polyfilla/toupret can be used to finish.
Trust this helps, regards

As a decorator- I would use expanding foam. Start at the bottom and work your way up (mist the area with water first- it aids adhesion and speeds up the curing times).

A single can of foam is going to cost you about a tenner, if you buy a gun grade can, it will cost about another tenner for a cheap gun and then a fiver for the acetone to clean the gun. It will lock the wall into place. There will zero bounce.

As per Opps. Try the Soudal 'genius gun'! Mask up each side and squirt that stuff right into the crack! When the foam has hardened, you can cut it back enough to give you a 5mm fill with a decent sandable filler. You've got this!

Thank you all for your answers (sorry for late reply but had to go to that awful thing called work ). I did buy a can of expanding foam but the pipe would not fit into the hole - the crack isn't wide enough :( Should i try and make the crack wider?? I had thought of trying a flexible sealant - would that work?
Thank you

Work is a 4 lettered word. But so is cash and beer.

I have nozzles for my foam gun that go down to 2mm.

My advice would be to purchase a decent gun. .

Alternatively, drill holes either side of the gap and squirt the foam in.

Foam is incredibly effective at locking meeting boards.
