That colour of corrosion in the system, in my experience, is more indicative of a new install with little or no inhibitor. Black corrosion appears where there is a lower content of oxygen in the system and tends to be more long term corrosion. Bright red corrosion I find tends to be newer type corrosion, in fresh water that has a higher O2 content, that's why I'm asking when it was installed. Either that or that colour can be typical to open vented systems and is bacterial based but your was a combi, so a sealed system I believe?
They asked for a Magnaclean - the Micro2 is compact, easy to fit and service with the pipe jig and has a small footprint
Hope it's the newer TF1 or the Omega (IG use those) and not the older cone type total TF1, had many problems over the years with those ones leaking for fun.
main do not specifically ask for a magna clean . couple of years back there was a big problem with the micro`s were they where slipping off the connections and people were having to cable tie them on .
It was mentioned dozens of times on the baxi sites as they supplied them with the 800 series

Yes, it's the later TF1 and I think chosen because it was more compact than the Magnaclean, and all metal. I vaguely remember reports of the Magnaclean's case distorting, or something?
I like the omega's, nice and solid and compact, only criticism I have is that they cant be fully opened, just flushed.
I've never had an issue with the Micro2's, they do twist on the pipework due to the fact they are push fits, but that's easily avoided with proper clipping. The original Micro's were bad, they were another filter that once the top was off it was a bugger to get them to seal again
