Right, as mentioned on a previous thread, had to stop work last Sept pending a hip replacement, post op I decided the retirement was permanent so I should probably get rid of the van, maybe something smaller, before emptying tools off the van I had to have a massive reorganisation in the garage, ruthlessly dumping stuff I had no need for, 1st pic is the van before emptying out, it's normally more organised but stuff out of the garage had been chucked on just so I could move about in the garage.

Next up, sound deadening panels stuck on, a rubber foam foil covered thermal/acoustic insulation and lastly a fleece insulation, similar to rockwool but made from recycled plastic, great stuff, doesn't itch.

Unfortunately with visitors and weddings I've had to stop there for a week, a blank canvas ready for cabinets and bed, and the main electrics which I'm dreading.
I have a reasonable idea of the layout but I'm going to do a mock up to make sure it works, should've done a plan but I'll just wing it and see where we go. Forgot to mention, fitted a solar panel and tv aerial before finalising the ceiling. I'll be fitting a fridge so the solar is essential.
When it was completely stripped I went out for a drive and the noise was unbelievable, yesterday it was quieter than when it was original.

its looking good - I sort of did my vn up some years ago, I used rockwoll between the side panels, and then carpet glued onto them (carpet on the walls and ceiling)

If you want to go motorhoming in france and use the campingcar sites you will need to fit a loo and shower. But many ignore these rules.

Water tank? Lots of stuff available here, I have used them previously

I used to just have a bottle to pish in (sometimes the midgies are too bad to go outside)

I've a small chemical loo but from what I've seen on various youtube channels like 'vanlife' the 'special' plastic bottle is a must.

That seems an awful lot of faff for a vehicle that could breakdown at any time. I'd rather buy myself a tried & tested Coachman if I was that way inclined.

Been looking at van life myself. I quite like the VW Transporter.
