Storing emails uses energy in data storage centres, which create a great amount of heat which is treated by water. Deleting old emails will reduce the demand. Its remiscent of the advice to turn taps off when brushing your teeth. But what has meaningfully been done by the water authorities to mend leaks?

One of the problems with mending leaks is that to keep them below a certain level becomes extremely disruptive.

Maybe relay them using oversize pipes, then use smaller bore when the leaks occur, it would at least be an option

The more immigrants, the more car washes, the more car washes the less water for everyone else, its a vicious circle! Plus water companies dont build new reservoirs when they should. Maybe store more water and repair leaks faster, than worry about emails

digital smart meters must be helping them save millions of gallons . They are quite quick off the mark informing people about constant usage .
Worst one i seen was domestic property losing 100 gallons an hour 24/7 christ knows how long it had been going before meter fitted but worse still the guys bird opened the two letters and never told him before leaving him discovered 3 months later when i went for something else.
Luckily for him water board never charged him

I read somewhere of some company using the cooling water from these super computers to heat homes

It's about time all services were put in channels in the pavement. My wife's cousin in America bought a new build (new when they bought it about 20 years ago), all the utilities ran in a channel and entered the house in the "utility room". Any maintenance just require the channel lid removing for easy access.

Feck them.

Why should I do a data tidy-up when 99.9% of the population, business, government etc will be doing diddly squat on this.

I'm a good boy, I now take 60 secs shorter in the shower to conserve water.

(meanwhile, 20 billion litres leaking here there everywhere every 5 secs)

I'm doing my bit by eating more plant based foods, problem is, I now have to flush the bog 4 or 5 times every time I have a Tom Tit. Not good for the environment.
