None of the parties are offering anything remotely new.
PR is the answer
We need a system where politicians can tell the voters hard truths and still get elected. Whether PR achieves that is another question.

I'd prefer a system where we didn't have government and opposition. We need a system where politicians can tell the voters hard truths and still get elected. Whether PR achieves that is another question.
Yep a government full of experts in each field regardless of "party" given her personal family life and upbringing and dealing with a disabled son she would make a brilliant minister for families. We should be able to vote for the position not the partyI'd prefer a system where we didn't have government and opposition.
Such a waste of resources. You will rarely find a team A and team B in business competing with each other, with one trying to to undermine the work of the other.

onlyfans? How will she afford a £650K mortgage on an MPs salary.
The world needs a new direction, however it ain't going to happen.
Incoming fact 1:
Since year dot, humankind has been broadly separated into the haves and have nots. Rich and poor. Those who hold influence and power, those who don't.
Incoming fact 2:
This isn't going to change. Call me pessimistic if you like, I prefer realist. Yes it's laudable that people try, and perhaps make some inroads around the periphery, however fact 1 in a broad sense will never change. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.
Incoming fact 3:
Let's imagine there was a worldwide uprising by the masses. All governments overthrown. A complete reset.
Hooray!!!
How long do you think the utopia would last? How long do you think any attempt at true equality and parity across the masses would last? I don't think, I know it would only be a matter of time until the old traits reared their heads again. Greed, hunger for power, the desire to control etc.
Within time, we'd be back to where we are now.
For my own sanity, I accept the world of politics is a swamp. Some of them dip their proverbial toe, some are up to their necks. It's not going to change![]()
As I said in the Green Man thread:I'd prefer a system where we didn't have government and opposition.

She's a government housing minister buying a £800k seaside flat FFS, not Ethel the dinner lady buying a £5k caravan. She should be able to afford a decent tax advisor and make sure it’s not going to come back and bite her on the bum.She told them she didn’t own any other houses because that was her understanding on advice. The law in her case says she can be deemed to own and not own for different purposes. Genuine mistake. Even the different advisers got it wrong.

Too right, she'll know the next time...Someone needs to contact her and get her to join diynot. So that In future she can get expert advice from the 3 wise monkeys . Notch,Denso and nosefekall

I guess thats another job she could consider. She's a government housing minister buying a £800k seaside flat FFS, not Ethel the dinner lady buying a £5k caravan. She should be able to afford a decent tax advisor and make sure it’s not going to come back and bite her on the bum.
