Hi everyone.

Only my third thread and looking for a little of advice and purposeful direction. Have really appreciated any help on previous threads from those of you much more experienced than I.

I had a little bit of work done (about 11 days ago) - have had flags laid in the front garden area and some tumbled block paving and setts in the driveway and around the edges of the flags.

Unfortunately this all coincided with me being unwell and I didn't get to just follow up fully as planned.

On further inspection I have noticed that there is some cement / mortar left on some of the block pavings and setts.

Any tips or useful methods for removing this? I have chipped a bit off but it's stubborn and just wondering what's best for this.

I am learning hard lessons I know.

I don't know the answer. Brick acid might help. But hopefully someone else will be along soon to give you better advice.

Wire brush

But show us some photos to see how much there is

It's not too late to get the culprits back to sort it. They shouldn't have been so careless.

I know you're right but I don't even want them back near it. I've had enough hassle and stress already.

Brick acid. What is it and where do I get it? Is it a complicated process to apply?

It is just Hydrochloric acid, jam jar and a stiff brush to apply, then hose off afterwards. Keep it away from the cement/grout between the bricks etc, it does etch that as well.

Have a professional cleaner coming to look at it later in the week. I don't want to mess with something I don't understand.
