"Illegals" as you call them, are kept in detention.It has affected a lot of people, most people have been forced to live with these illegalls either near to them, in their towns or worse still, next door to them.
If their removal to their country of origin is not possible, the government are obliged to assess their application, irrespective of how they arrived.
Only bona fide asylum seekers, and successful refugees are allowed into the community.
Of course anyone who arrives via a legal route is automatically granted leave to remain.
So theoretically no-one will have 'illegals' living next door.
