Let's be honest, the (high?) majority of folk intending to vote Reform have one thing on their mind.
Immigration.
Fine, it can be argued folk often cast their vote based on relatively few core things.
As we've discussed before, you never know, if they get in, maybe Reform will do a better job at reducing the small boats and other immigration challenges. I doubt it, however you never know.
What I don't think your average Reform voter is giving much thought to is how good Reform will be at all the other stuff. Yes we can say 'well they can't be any worse' ... I'm not so sure.

They are thriving in online worlds which are not easily visible to large swathes of the public but which spread misinformation that has real-world consequences. The three groups that form the basis of our main analysis were chosen because they contained one or more current or past members charged in connection with the 2024 summer riots or had comments supportive of those involved in the riots, be that in-person or online.
We subsequently found links between these and 13 other groups – all but three of which are also public groups – which have at least one shared moderator or administrators, both of which play important roles in these groups. Moderators can manage membership by approving requests or issuing bans and have the authority to remove posts or comments. Admins possess expanded powers, including the ability to adjust group settings, modify its description, and appoint additional administrators or moderators.

In the short time I've been here, i've noticed that right-wing members invariably resort to mendacious ad hom attacks against others.
Judging by the quality of their arguments, I'm convinced it's because they lack the intellectual ability to posit their arguments. Whether it's because they really do lack the intellectual capacity to form their ideologies and beliefs into words, or whether it's because their ideologies and beliefs are so fragile, any supporting argument for those ideologies fall at the first hurdle.
I guess it can be both depending on the individual. For instance, take motorbiking, obviously an intelligent person, but twists and misinterprets news, studies and legislation to support his right-wing ideology.
On the other hand take Highway Man, Nwgs2, Fillystine, Mottie, Johnny2007, and others, they obviously lack the ability to form sound arguments, avoiding logical fallacies, to present their supporting arguments for their ideology. So they resort to ad hom attacks.
Sometimes those ad hom attacks escalate into vicious, mendacious and perfidious attacks on other members, often referring to them even when they are not participating in any discussion in that particular thread.
They've proven themselves to be incapable of hearing or considering another's opinion, and seek to destroy the reputation of their opponent.
Sometimes forming themselves into little gangs to create these attacks. Sometimes virtual complete strangers join in these attacks demonstrating their perfidious and cowardly nature. devoid of any honour.
Sometimes when challenged they deny all knowledge of the original issue, and blame others for their misinformation.
Without a doubt the far-right, and some right leaning people are a danger to social cohesion. And some social media sites allow and support such behaviour.
But there are some left wing posters who adopt such tactics also.

There aren't many 'left-wing' posters on this site as most folk try to identify as 'centrists' these days. A mistake, as you point out, political discourse has become so polarised that it's become dangerous to sit on the fence - one side or the other will take a shot at you. T'was ever thus, but i noticed it getting worse when the Tea Party began after the financial crash and the election of Obama in 2008-09. Suddenly all manner of mischief was wanging about. Moderators managed to keep a lid on it for a while but in recent years they've become swamped as the mob of MAGA and our own dearly despised 'reformers' have flooded the s.media zone to the point of saturation.
Of course, it's all down to Trump. His incessant tweeting stirred the Tea Party into action and all he did was rebrand them MAGA, give them new hats to wear and off they went, blinded by bullshhhh't to the point of incoherent white noise, led up the steps of the Capitol 'trying to take their country back' while remaining blissifully oblivious to the fact Trump was taking it away from them.
Now Farage is applying the same tactics, and we can see the affects it has around the country and echoed in the forum from a right wang clique who stop at nothing to disrupt general discussion into widespread mischief at the expense of fair folk who try to cut through the fog of f.wittery. Fat chance they have while the madness lasts.
