"PPE Medpro was awarded more than £200mn in government contracts for health supplies during the Covid-19 pandemic after a recommendation to ministers by Mone, a lingerie entrepreneur and Conservative peer.

Mone’s husband, Doug Barrowman, made tens of millions of pounds from those contracts, the Financial Times has previously reported. The government launched legal proceedings in December 2022, claiming breach of contract over the quality of gowns provided by the company. PPE Medpro has denied that the goods provided were faulty.

Over several years, spokespeople and lawyers for Mone denied she had any involvement with the company, as did people representing Barrowman.Eddie Parladorio, founder of Hanover Bond Law, wrote to the FT in October 2020 stating that Mone knew nothing about the PPE Medpro contracts and had no involvement in the negotiations for that contract.

He said he was instructed that “any attempt to mischaracterise our client’s non-involvement in the relevant contract will be met with immediate legal action”.

This was a lie.

The company has now lost its court case and been ordered to repay £122 million.

But will the taxpayers ever see their money back?

OOF!

MBK will be crestfallen and in mourning for months. I still don't think he got over Boris being booted out of Parliament or Bernie Ecclescake losing a third of his fortune.

But will the taxpayers ever see their money back?
Not a dime. It's a mere drop in the ocean regards Tory chummy pocket lining. The stolen money was quickly squirreled away in kids trust funds and the like.

Greedy lying Tory scum.

Nope as seemingly there is less than 1 million quid in the company accounts. .. Government needs to go after their personal wealth

I hadn't heard about the Keir Starmer story.

What a lovely man! He bought a plot of land behind his mother's house for her to keep some donkeys. That's so nice.

It’s still a lot less than the Blair’s are going to get for the Digital ID scam.

But @JohnD won’t care because he loves Labour and they can do wrong!!

Silly John.
