New EU digital border checks

Giving up personal data to the government is not really such a bad thing, they are hardly likely to sell it on to advertisers.
It's when it's hacked that the system shows its weaknesses.
Imagine being a person who, for their own reasons, needs or wants to keep their personal data secret and secure, only to find a trusted, supposedly reliable database has been hacked.
Such a database will keep historical data and historical identities.

Did everyone complain about the hold-ups when passports were first introduced? We got over that, didn’t we? Just go with the flow, you know it’ll all work out for the best eventually.

Did anyone complain when passport checks were no longer needed in the EU?
I don't recall anyone ever mentioning it, except for the odd news information type article. But it was such a revelation crossing national borders in the EU.
Previously I've been stopped crossing the Pyrenees, with the car emptied and searched by the roadside, crossing from Spain to France.

Then post Schengen introduction, crossing from France to Belgium, and I didn't even notice when I had crossed the border(s), same going into Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Andorra and France.
But I didn't 'complain'.

Similarly, after the Euro was introduced, it removed so many problems when travelling around the EU.

Mottie says: “Brexit was worth it because the queues haven’t been as bad as anticipated”

Mottie knows Brexit is a massive failure, but is too bone headed to admit it.

How is fingerprinting everybody over the age of 12 progress?
Sounds good to me. Police databases are constantly in need of good fingerprints and DNA samples to help out with crime detection.

How is fingerprinting everybody over the age of 12 progress?

Why not?

I visited Dubai a couple of years ago and they had the same system. No issues doing this. Their rules, if you don’t like them, then don’t visit the country

I have donated both finger prints, mug shots and DNA myself to the police, no problem with it at all, unless you have something to hide of course
