The vast majority of these were for Halal and some foe Kosher (religious slaughter)
there is no laws that require non-stunned meat to be labelled as such, an unspecified amount just gets put out with ethically slaughtered meat

Each pre-packed meat package, bears a code. That code can be checked against a long list of codes, which indicates whether it is Halal, etc.. The problem is, the system makes it easy to confirm it is Halal, it doesn't make it so easy to confirm it is not.

What is needed, is an easy, more obvious way to identify which is which.
