Direct quote:

'Instead of closing down energy plants, we're opening them up. Instead of building ineffective money losing windmills, we're taking them down and not approving any!'

I hope Milliband isn't watching this, he'll be choking on his responsibly sourced coffee that he's drinking from a disposable environmentally friendly cardboard cup.

He also made comment re not recognising certain parts of Europe any more. Of course, Trump is also essentially blowing his own trumpet, all of which will be going down well with the EU leaders.

He mentioned negotiating for Green land, so a welcome if not unexpected U turn. History has never seen someone who is simultaneously elected and autocratic.

Trump still seems to think that the other country pays the tariff. The latest analysis shows that the exporting country has only paid 4% of Trump's tariffs and Americans have paid the other 96%.

The research team analysed more than 25 million shipment records covering a total value of almost four trillion US dollars in US imports. The findings are clear:

  • US customs revenue increased by approximately 200 billion US dollars in 2025.
  • Foreign exporters absorbed only about four percent of the tariff burden, 96 percent passed through to US buyers.
  • Trade volumes collapsed, but export prices did not fall.

Tony Blair.

If you had told the 1996 British man in the street what the 2026 Britain will be like, he would think you were certifiably insane / senile / schizophrenic and all the similar names that Trump gets called.

Just heard him say that only stupid people buy the "wind mills" and "have you noticed that china make em - but they dont use em"
Is that true ?

Most sources say China generates more wind power than any other country in the world. Not sure how that stacks up against their other sources of power, coal for example.

Not even close to true. They're installing around 100GW a year at the moment.

The UK has around 30GW in total. So all our turbines every 4 months.

The US has around 150GW installed.

The EU has around 300GW installed.

China has around 600GW installed.
