My mams just had a new boiler fitted :Logic Max Heat2 H15, the HW is working fine, the CH is not, on the boiler it says timer off or room thermostat & cylinder thermostat off.

Both the room thermostat and cylinder thermostat are turned up though.
I've got a feeling the potterton ep 2000 has been wired wrong, I say this as there is a wire that goes nowhere from connection L. Although there is a wore from l to 5.

Could anyone help?

Who carried out the wiring? Did you ask them back? It’s a Y plan by the looks of things, have you checked that the motorised valve is working? It looks like there are 2 wires in L and 5

Been trying to get the plumber back, was meant to come round this week but didn't show, me mam only told me today .

I was thinking if it would be easier for me to get a hive thermostat and go with that.

As for the motorised valve, no I haven't checked will have to look up how to.
It's strange because me mam says it does sometimes come on at strange times then goes off.

As for the 2 wires in l the brown one is about 2 inches long and not connected. The red wire from l is connected to 5 I believe. But the brown wire in 5 looks to be coming from a cable in the wall.

If a fault exists with the motorised valve then the Hive won't sort it

Could be going to mid position on the valve and coming on with the water

Needs some proper wire tracing really then.
