The first we can all agree on. You should only get disability benefits if you meet the disability criteria.

The second question is whether disability benefits should be means tested. If you meet the disability criteria, should you be entitled to claim disability benefits irrespective of how well off you are.

I wasn't giving an opinion either way. I was just attempting to separate out 'medical need' from 'financial need', because it seeemed posters were talking at cross purposes.
