It's over..who will take over ?

Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar about to hold press conference, calling for the PM to stand down.
Ok this is interesting, the Scottish labour leader a devout Muslim frequently calling out Islamophobia in the UK. OK im sure Kier isn't islamaphobic, maybe he is keen they get someone in that position who absolutely isnt? Just a thought.

Scottish Labour were riding high in the polls up here, it was almost becoming a given that come our Scottish elections, Labour could win and topple the SNP stranglehold.

Then when Keir got in, his relatively rapid decline in popularity, along with that of Labour south of the border, started to have a significant impact on Scottish Labour's popularity. By association type of thing.

So the thinking is he (Anas) wants to cut ties and distance himself and Scottish Labour from the current sh1tshow.

Do you think all this might mean a resurgence for the SNP?

It's pretty obvious that various muslim organisations want to run a political party exclusively for them, to pursue their agenda. If so it's really sad to see such blatant sectarianism emerging in England, for probably the first time since that Protestant vs Catholic thing centuries ago.

Instead of going to all the trouble of starting a new party, it looks like they're aiming to take over the battered corpse of the labour party. Makes sense I suppose, plus they'll get a few pink-haired nutjobs to add some votes on top - at least until they later behead them.

Given the Scottish election is in early May, I reckon Anas would need to do something pretty miraculous to turn around Labour's woes.

Two horse race between SNP and Reform, if the polls are to be believed.

Bear in mind we also have a cohort of folk up here who will vote SNP no matter how well they are actually delivering i.e. people that are ardent Scottish independence to their core.

Anas Sarwar giving press conference now. Direct quote:

'The distraction needs to end, and the leadership in Downing Street needs to end ... We cannot allow the failures at the heart of Downing Street to mean the failures continue here in Scotland'.

So there you go, Anas has taken the stance he was expected to.

Starmer said Corbyn was his friend and colleague once.

While manoeuvering to oust him.
As Trump once said of the world of politics, it's a swamp.

And let's face it, to varying degrees, many politicians around the globe are in the swamp, whether dipping their toe or up to their necks.

I can't decide whether I'd prefer No-Brainer Rayner or Red Edd to be PM? Either would be utterly brilliant.

Footnote: By "brilliant" I mean that either would ensure that the Labour party never gets elected again in a lifetime, or ever, saving us from experiencing the current nonsense in future.

Actually to hell with it, let's have Reeves as PM, really smash the car into the wall.
