Reform Policies

So, Labour bad, Tories badder then? Time to let Reform have a go or do you have a better idea?
Labour bad for lots of different reasons, Tories bad in their current format of raging eurosceptical morons.
They are both pretty diabolical in different ways, but I'd still choose either over Reform.

Nigel Farage is expected to name Robert Jenrick as his potential future chancellor, as part of a series of appointments of key Reform UK politicians on Tuesday.

Looks like fellow Tories had him sussed after all as 'nigel's chancellor'.

I wouldn't buy a used car from 'Honest Bob', let alone entrust him with the economy.

Literally absolutely anyone dragged off the street at random would be an improvement on the current chancellor, that embarassing "errrmmm ermmmm" moron reading memorised scripts in some weird robot voice. I just can't listen to her, it's really uncomfortable to watch, she looks like she just wants it all to end.

Which would be fine IF she had the slightest clue about how to do her job. But she hasn't the slightest idea and is so obviously completely out of her depth. She lied her way into the job, and the only reason she hasn't been sacked is that Starmer has allied himself so strongly with her so can't dump her now.

If Jenrick has a decent education then he should be fine. I don't really know much of his background but he seems like he can at least speak a cohesive sentence using words that he's thought about all by himself. The bar is really low, but he passes.

Because Rachel from accounts hasn’t turned out to be a hopeless, dishonest car crash who can’t even work out how to legally operate as a landlord.

He only passes in 'reform' world because he's lower than a snake's belly and can slither under without touching the bar.
Is he really qualified to handle the nations finances?

If he really is being selected for that job then I'd assume his abilities have been assessed.

But so far I think we only have your speculation anyway.

Personally, I'd expect Zia Yusef to be a more obvious candidate, subject to becoming an MP at the next election.

Rachel waved a CV at Starmer which said she'd run a bank and the bank of england, and had also walked on the moon and invented sunshine.

Starmer believed it all without question. His call. It's not turning out well for him, but she's no less capable than he is.

I see that deform want to get rid of the equality act...

No doubt it'll be touted as being aimed at the minorities that their supporters don't particularly like...

Of course it will also affect the majority population in the UK - women!

One also wonders what the wives/girlfriends of deform supporters think about that?

Garbage and deform do indeed seem intent on taking us back to the 1930's !

But how much of it can you remember through a haze of weed
Often ask myself that question, all in moderation though, is actually medically proven, hmm to prove things, i have it written down somewhere. Can't beat a haze of weed when the chips are down, dont eat too many chips after.

Right-wing voters are realists, who would like the above to be true but accept that most people are selfish so life needs to be harsh for those who don't pull their own weight.
Exactly this, we keep hearing about how the loonies are afraid of Reform crashing the economy. Well look at the state of it now. We don't care if the cost of living goes up ias that is a small price to pay and well worthwhile to get shut of these shirkers. I think life will indeed get tough for those who are workshy. The loonies who vote labour are history and life is going to be tough for them. Most of them are unemployed and havent got a days work in them, the world doesnt owe you anything, either accept what is about to happen or ship out.

They won't be happy until they have turned the UK into a corrupt 3rd world country.

Bit late to the show today, but I watched a chunk of the Reform conference earlier and, honestly, I was impressed in a few ways. Farage has clearly dropped the overly jolly pub-banter persona and stepped things up. The staging, the people behind him, and the overall tone all felt more deliberate, like an acknowledgment that Reform wants to be taken seriously now, not treated as a protest sideshow.

What I really liked was the willingness to take any question, however uncomfortable, and actually answer it. No polished evasions, no dead-air waffle, just direct responses. That alone was refreshing. I also liked that he didn’t hide his senior figures away. Letting people like Jenrick be properly questioned and making it clear they have to speak for themselves, it sends the right message, eg "if you’re here to represent, you’re accountable." also, lines about respecting taxpayers’ money didn’t feel like empty slogans for once.

I’d take this any day over the lying, dead-eyed deceiver we currently have in charge. And to be clear, if Farage ever starts pulling Starmer-style U-turns, he should be held to the same standard and booted out just as quickly.

Which brings me to Starmer, how the hell is he still there? I’ve genuinely lost count of the reversals now.

As Farage himself acknowledged, yes, some of this looks like gathering Tory defectors but at least they’re broadly credible. That’s still miles better than the amateur, parish-council-grade chancers dominating the Labour cabinet.

I also liked how Jenrick was challenged on his background and Farage simply let him answer. No shielding, no stage managing. The unspoken rule seemed to be "if you join, you’d better be able to justify who you are and what you’ve done." None of them were sweating it but you could see this was relatively unscripted non BS, which is wether you believe it or now how Farage seems to operate. (Or i am just a gullible starry eye'd mofo)

Overall, genuinely impressed. Well timed, well pitched, and landing at exactly the wrong moment for a visibly floundering Starmer.
