With the concentration of US air and naval power around the Gulf there's an expectation that the US is going to attack Iran again.

My bet is Trump is going to go for major airstrikes to prevent Iran getting a nuclear weapon! And to do so he'll target the head of the regime as well as general destruction of infrastructure similar to the start of desert storm. US led bombing with Israel joining in once the air defence is wrecked.

My bet is that it'll be a walkover again, but fail to achieve any meaningful goals, again.

No, it didn't do much in the grand scheme of things.

On the other hand no one believes Iran is actively working on nuclear arms at the moment. They're at a point where if they wanted to they could quickly put the materials together but they've been at that stage ever since Trump season 1 when he binned the Obama deal.

The Obama deal was atrocious to say the least, even the EU who were party to it later admitted it was a bad deal. It merely delayed their nuclear ambitions by a few short years but by relaxing sanctions provided Iran with hundreds of billions of dollars to fund Hezbollah, Hamas and indeed global terrorism.

I find it bizarre to say the least that Islamist terrorism has so much support on this forum.
