Hello

Am wondering if you can tell from the pictures whether this is 6mm or 10mm cable?

It looks to be printed with WESSEL BASEC 1999 but I can’t see a size.

All cores are stranded, the sheathing is 19-20mm by about 10mm.

Thanks

Thanks. Can’t see any other mark on it (other than above) and it’s live. Not an electrican so don’t want to touch anything.

Thanks, but as it’s live and I’m not an electrcian I would be wary about disconnecting it.

https://assets.cef.co.uk/downloads/pdg/prysmian_6242y_datasheet/prysmian_6242y_datasheet.pdf has the dimensions of one maker's cable...

6.8mm cf 8.4mm and 13.1mm cf 16.8mm for the two dimensions pictured (with that rule positioned too poorly for even the wildest guesstimation). Provide a better accuracy measurement / compare to some real cable charts.

Your trusted Sparks will determine the cable cross-sectional area quite easily when on site from examination of the terminated ends and a measure (or just by their experienced eyeball mk1).

I read that too but there’s newer grey 6mm with standard earth!
Oh I've never seen it....

if it's not written on the cable you could turn the power off disconnect a core and try a 6mm yellow lug on the end (it wont fit on 10mm)

@Rodders53. I’d feel more confident in the dimensions if it was new cable but it’s old white stuff and I don’t know if manufacturing practices/specs changed over time.

Already did (see my first post) - BASEC WESSEL 1999)

Definitely no size - scraped it both sides!
