The legacy media tells him to support anything that could potentially make, Trump/Israel look bad.

You're right, the level of bombing the US can and would carry out is far lighter now.
But for other examples: it failed in the Chechen wars, Syria, Gaza, Yugoslavia, Russians invasions of Ukraine, Afghanistan and Gulf War 1. It's easy to list conflicts where bombing failed to achieve regime change or people to crumble and surrender, because it's pretty much every war.
The bombing didn't topple any regimes, infantry invasion was needed to do that, and they mostly failed too.
Regime change has already occurred
Not meaningfully, people within the regime have changed but structurally it's the same one, just a bit more militant and pro nuke.
Chechnya was a civil war with in Russia
Yugoslavia was a civil war
Syria was a civil war
Gulf one achieved its aims kicking saddam out of Kuwait
Libya was a civil war
The first Gulf war involved a land invasion of Iraq.
Find me an example since WW2 of a successful bombing campaign alone that led to surrender or overthrow of a hostile regime to be replaced by a friendly one. Any example, no matter how poor.

That would be a good start, although it isn't a great example as there is no significant organised opposition at the moment.

There is no public opinion in Irann, no mid terms to worry about, that only leaves the resumption of bombing to handle people’s frustrations which isn’t a sensible strategy
