Donald Trump said that a US naval destroyer seized an Iranian vessel in the Gulf of Oman, as Washington and Tehran gave conflicting accounts of whether new peace talks were set to begin in Pakistan.

In a Truth Social post, the US president said the Iranian-flagged cargo ship Touska “tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them”.

He said the guided missile destroyer USS Spruance intercepted the ship by “blowing a hole” in its engine room after the vessel ignored warnings to stop. The US now had custody of the ship, he added, which was under Treasury department sanctions because of a “history of illegal activity”

I think Trump wants to get out of this war but Netanyahu won't let him.
He has dug himself into a hole and can't seem to stop digging.
 
One question that keeps cropping up in my mind is:
Are Israelis or Jews, around the world and in Israel, or Americans, any safer now than they were 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years ago?
The same applies to any sort of persecution or persistent animosity between any type of group.

Does the world still not understand that if you persecute or persistently increase tension towards another religion/ ethnicity/ minority group,, it doesn't make you any safer. Quite the reverse, it increases animosity between the various groups, which if not wound down, eventually leads to violence, and all out war.

Yet in this forum, for page after page we see many posters intentionally raising that level of animosity and outright hatred towards other groups.
Let's dial it back, and stop doing our damnedest to increase that tension.

Travelling Yanks will likely have to don the same disguise they did when Bush was in charge, only this time around the hatred factor is multiplied x10, if you add MAGA as a prefix. Toxic Trump has succeeded in isolating the US from the rest of the (non-dictatorial) world. They'll have to pretend to be Canadians again. Few will admit to being MAGA or Trump affiliated whilst travelling.

A question more people will ask as AI takes hold of the internet and has a cumulative effect on the wider world. By the time of the next election it'll be harder to tell one from t'other. Richard Dawkins thinks AI is becoming sentient...

He has a strong digging instinct but fails to realise this isn't a NY real estate deal where he has some clout
 
It's OK, he's building a large military complex under the new ballroom so he can stage a coup if he loses the next election. :LOL:
