You are correct that more benefits can be obtained under these new rules. In the past, right wingers moaned that the husband could claim benefits in his own name for his 'harem'. Saying it wasn't British. So, the Tories changed it so that the extra wives had to claim in their own names as single people. This means they actually get slightly more money overall. And now right wingers like KH seem to be unhappy about that, too.
