Fantastic idea.

Must admit I don’t care for the breed

Grey hounds / lurchers
I like all animals. I favour the greyhound as it is the most difficult dog to rehome. When I decided to adopt a dog, my criteria would be to rehome a dog that needs a home and give it a chance of a life that it deserves. A greyhound is pretty much a sad story as its life is bred for racing, once it doesnt do well racing they are tossed aside and neglected and never shown any love. My greyhound will receive the very best of everything including lots of love.

It isn't the dogs fault, it is the owner. I would have strung him up. You have to be a lot more aware of the problem and safe gaurd other animals too when owning such a dog. Some people are not responsible enough to own a greyhound.

They have strong prey drive.

This isn't a fault of the dogs, but a fault of the owner for allowng it to happen.. A muzzle when out and kept firmly on a leash so it cannot chase a small animal. They are lovely dogs when kept and handled properly by a responsible owner. Whippets are no different, they need proper attention and responsible owners.

I used to see a guy who had adopted a racing greyhound. I used to feel sorry for it because he was an older gentleman who walked very slowly. The dog kept looking at him as if to say “come on let’s get going”. So cruel.
