Recently did a reunion night at Spiders night club. Pleased to report its hardly changed in 20 years since I used to go there. Cheap cocktails, excellent music, and an atmosphere like no other nightclub.
When I say cheap cocktails, I'm talking £2.50 for half pint drinks such as Tarantula, and about £4.50 for pint drinks such as Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster. Drink at your own risk.
Then there's the Adelphi - legendary music venue that supports budding artists, and seen many famous acts pass through their doors.
There are so many great pubs for real ale, I can't list them all, but include: White Hart, Ye Olde White Hart, Station Hotel, Black Boy, St Johns, Minerva.
City centre isn't what it was, as a combination of Amazon, St Stephens shopping centre, and Kingswood out of town retail park have contributed to various mainstream shops to close. But there still enough there to keep us going, including independent shops.
There is also plenty of history as well.
I once visited Stoke for a course. Seemed very boring in comparison.
