No the dog looks perfectly happy, I would never put a dog down, unless it was suffering.

To me, I think it would be suffering HM. I love dogs so much. I have been there when they have had to be released from this life. So sad. I hate to see them suffer... I truly believe that that dog is suffering, daily.....

Just received a text from the greyhound rescue centre, my dog is ready to meet us after having pulled it's own stitches out, I was getting worried something had happened to her and they didn't like to say.

Yes she didn't like them and so removed them herself so had to have them put back again. She is doing well and ready to meet us.

All ex racing greyhounds have to be neutred or spayed before adoption as greyhound breeding is very stringent because of the breed so the deal is they are done before you get them.

Thats pretty solid advice for females, but Vet opinions are changing on Males.

It sounds like they just don't want you breeding race-winning pups from their retired dogs. They want to keep greyhound supplying all to themselves. It's business, not welfare.

Probably, you can breed them but you need all sorts of licences and paperwork from the greyhound society as they have very stringent breeding criteria for a racing greyhound. The racing board have an agreement with all of the adoption rescue cencres that they are spayed before adoption.
