The Black Professor

An abusive post about Jason Arday was posted every 10 minutes on X in the five days after he resigned from Cambridge University, new research shows. The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) analysed posts [and] found thousands of posts containing his name after he stepped down from his role, hundreds of which contained abusive slurs and calls for him to suffer harm. It raises questions about X's content moderation systems.

Imran Ahmed, chief executive and founder of the Center for Countering Digital Hate said, "Platforms must enforce the rules they claim to uphold. There is no excuse for allowing their services to remain hotbeds of vile racism and threats.”
I thought Musk set up X as a right wing hatred vehicle? They are unlikely to protect a black man.

He remade the platform in his own ideal of a free speech forum where you can say what you like without taking any responsibility for the consequences. He's no more concern for the content as any other far right mouthpiece, such as Milo Y who's been deported back to the UK after the ultra conservatives there found his ideas about teenage boys too extreme for them.

I don't think Musk endorses most of the trash talk on X, so long as it keeps the advertisers happy with the rankings. It's a bit like a Sunday paper in the UK or an equivalent National Inquirer in the US. "Freddie Starr Ate my Hamster" or "Aliens Abducted my Grandma and Now she can't walk in a straight line." That sort of thing. I miss the 90s sometimes.

It is much like the BBC then, where vast sums of money are given to loony lefties to say what they like without taking any responsibility for, and denying, the consequences.

Cambridge does appear to have a vetting problem with its candidates. There is another one..Dr. Farah Ahmed, hitting the news...A Senior Research Associate—a researcher who previously called on Muslims to study engineering and computer science in order to "produce advanced weapons for Jihad, so that Islam may reign supreme over all other religions".

Not really the kind of comments that would be acceptable in an inclusive society.

Cambridge University has defended an academic after a publication she contributed to more than 20 years ago called for Muslims to study engineering and computer technology to help produce weapons for “Jihad”.

The writings were revealed by The Spectator, which reported that Ahmed and senior Hizb ut-Tahrir activist Nazreen Nawaz contributed to a chapter setting out plans for an Islamic education system. The chapter stated: “The motivation to study engineering would be to aid the development of machinery for Jihad and Allah’s reward for this is immeasurable.”

Cambridge has now told Jewish News that Ahmed says the comments were not written by her and do not represent her views.

A spokesperson for the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, said: “These comments were made in an article to which Dr Ahmed contributed as a historical researcher more than 20 years ago. She has said that they are not her words and do not reflect her views. Dr Ahmed also reiterated that she ended her association with Hizb ut-Tahrir* more than 15 years ago, long before the group was proscribed. Her appointment at Cambridge followed a standard recruitment process and complied fully with the University’s legal obligations as an employer.”

Hizb ut-Tahrir '... has consistently rejected violence as a tool of political change..'

Would we defend academics that where found to be Pedophiles , murderers or rapist 20 years ago?

Her actions 20 years ago may well still be the seed of bombings and death for the next 20 years and beyond.
