To gain permanent entry to Scotland, English people need to be able to say the following ... properly! Properly meaning the way a Scottish person would say it

Last time Independence was on the cards, the policy was that any UK citizen currently living in Scotland would gain Scottish citizenship.

They could probably be identified by being the people who pay Scotland's income tax rates.

That would, I think, exclude any rampant nationalist who had moved to some sunny tax haven.

Quite a lot of showers expected today, mostly in Northern Engiand and the Midlands.

They have been lasting many hours, so I'm hoping for a big reduction in wildfires and arson.

North of the Antonine they'd say it's a "soft" rain this a.m - not enough to stop a day's work but just right to make a refreshing change from the blistering heat. Pre-deluge due tomorrow. A reminder that Summer is slipping away and time to crack on before Winter settles matters for the year.

Have a wedding to go to in the next hour...

Unfortunately it's at the brides parents Farm and the legal bit is outside under an apple tree and the party was/is planned to be in the open in a field. Forecast is Thunderstorms at the time of the Wedding and rain for the rest of the day. Oh Well - the light show will, I hope, be spectacular! (I rather like watching Lightening.)

Well the couple did a good (rain) dance. After a quick shower the rain held off for the ceremony and the walk to the reception.
Afterwards apart from the hog roast everything else was under cover.
No lightening, sadly but plenty of thunder and some rain.

Some abnormally heavy storms overnight.

The radar showed several bands of "dark red" which indicates rain falling at a rate of over 32mm per hour.

Don't think I've seen that here before.

Meanwhile glaciers continue to melt.

Just think how bad it could be, if climate change wasn't a hoax, Mr. Trump.

I really dont know what to buy. My budget stretches me to a new Nissan Diesel.
Nissan / Renault dont do petrol.
Neither do Toyota, Vauxhall or any other French or Japanese manufacturers

However Ford & VW do a Petrol Hybrid, that I really like but takes me above my budget.
I haven't got the set up at home to charge a fully electric van.

I have 10 years of work ahead of me.
What honestly can I do.

I generally want to do the right thing by the planet but Im not a rich man.

Lease an electric van. They are cheap at the moment

And get a charger fitted
