I don't know where to start. Every August my hot water stops Working. Nothing trips nothing has tripped resulting in any power Being lost that couid change the water. But now I can't get it back on. I'm a single mum with two kids (4 and 18 months) I can't afford a plumber. The Hot water works used to work for timed programme but the hot water hasnt worked on boost For a long Time. If I try Boast the water will always be cold.

The water system is controlled by a horstmann electric 7. The power supply works. The lights are on. Everything comes on. The water just doesn't heat up. I've Spent hours and hours and hours trying to resolve this.

Within the immersion heater, I've turned off the power supply to reset the thermostat. There seems no reset button. The temperature has been changed to plus. The water just wont heat up. I've Added Some pics and. To confirm again I've always got power supply Off when playing around with immersion heater. I took the stuff off to identify reset button with screwdriver but there is nothing

Do you own the property, or is it rented?

Do you own a multimeter? Do you have any friends who might own a multimeter and be willing to help?

Could be the immersion heater element, as it appears to be the only method of heating the water. Is it a hard water area? It should be serviced/repaired by a G3 registered engineer as it’s an unvented cylinder.

I note there seems to be an upper and lower unit, so would expect some method to switch between the two.
The lower heating element may not be heated outside of the cheap night rate times but the upper element should be available for maybe 24/7 but certainly should be available outside the cheap night time rate.

The OP might also clarify the statement "Every August my hot water stops Working".
