It is tipped as the number one issue amongst the electorate for the next election. If you don't like the topic - then simply ignore it. You won't however, be able to ignore the issue forever as it is a serious domestic problem.

What a surprise. Better lock the thread then.

I'm actually glad to see that the Mods have closed the other thread from Joe on this topic as its becoming a little bit obsessive.

Yes, it's an issue but just one of many.

Along with oil running out and global warming it will eventually effect you even in deepest Devon. Besides, it seems you agree with me anyway. If immigration is controlled and monitored - no problem. Open door Britain - no way.

I believe that, if we are to be a part of this big EU thing, then there should be equity across member states on many things including immigration.

If I can freely go to live and work in Poland or France or Spain or Portugal or anywhere else then their citizens must have the same freedom to come and live and work in the UK ... It's called democracy.

Now, if you ask me whether I wish the UK to be a part of the EU then that's a different matter altogether

Working freely in any country aint the problem, its all the rubbish coming over here to live off the state and bleed the system dry.

But it's okay for you and I to go and live somewhere else living off their state and bleeding their system dry?

I dont live off the state and i dont intend too. You get alot more benefits over here than in any other country. Why do you think a percentage of them come over here. This country is a soft touch. There is enough spongers in this country as it is, so you dont need a whole lot more. All this country does for working folk whether immigrant, british or whatever is tax, tax and even more tax.
