Water Main Size?

Just some advice please, I have to arrange for the MDPE delivery for a project which has 4 no. townhouses each are 3 Bed with 1 bathroom (containing a bath, shower, whb and wc) and en-suite (containing a shower, whb and wc). I know the connection to the main water service pipe will be 25mm. but would you run 32mm alcathene from the boundary to each townhouse or would 25mm. dia. be adequate? the pressure is 4 Bar.

Assuming a road with houses next to each other. 25mm will do at 4 bar. 32mm will do no harm as the slimes put 1/2" water meter in a 3/4" water pipe. Less resistance then.

Well I don't know what sort of tin pot outfit you are, but if have to come on an DIY forum to ask stupid question, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the project.

No! Hep is not normally used for water supplies outside the building.

You need blue poly and its normal to split the supply to 20 mm poly OUTSIDE so that water meters can be added individually if required later.

Do you hold the Water Regulations qualification?

If not the Water Supplier will need to send their Inspector to check the installation.
