Could somebody give me some general advice on what electrical work needs to be carried out?

Currently I have an electric single oven installed (terminal outlet box) with a separate (cooker) on off switch and socket (control unit) on the wall.

Am I to assume the hob needs a separate supply? (If so what?) Or does this somehow feed into the existing terminal outlet box? If a separate supply is needed is this feed off the existing kitchen circuit or from its on supply from the consumer unit? If so how?

Also the cooker hood how is this supplied etc?

I don’t intend to undertake this work myself but would like some idea about what work needs doing. (is this a pricey job???) no chasing in, just conduit throughout.

The cooker switch will be adequate to supply the oven and hob but I would recommend you have 2 cables from it, running to individual unswitched fused spur outlets for each appliance, which can be mounted behind the oven. This will ensure each appliance is protected by the correct 13 amp fuse rather than relying on the higher rated fuse/MCB in the consumer unit that supplies the cooker switch. The hood is best connected to the sockets wiring, this time using a switched fused spur outlet.
